Plain facts, 18+

The casino, described plainly

The casino is the reason the hotel exists, so it belongs in an honest guide. It gets one page, with facts only: size, hours, age, and where to find help. Nothing here is advice to gamble.

What is there

A single gaming floor in the same building as the hotel, with several hundred electronic gaming machines and a small number of live tables. The exact machine count depends on which page you read: the resort's about page says over 500, other pages on its own site say over 550 and over 570, and Wikipedia says 600. I give the range rather than pick one. There is also a gift shop, the Coral Reef, next to a bar the resort calls the Tidal Wave, and the shop sells lottery tickets.

The live tables keep shorter hours than the floor: 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Thursday and Friday, 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday and 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Sunday, closed Monday to Wednesday.

Who may enter

Manitoba's Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act says a minor must not participate in provincial gaming, requires operators to check identification from anyone who appears to be a minor, and requires them to ask minors to leave casino premises. Manitoba's Age of Majority Act sets the age of majority at 18. In practice that means adults 18 and over, with ID if asked.

The hotel, the pool, the arcade and Mango's are family spaces. The Blue Dolphin lounge sits inside the casino area and follows the casino's age rule.

If gambling stops being fun

The Manitoba Problem Gambling Helpline is free, confidential and open 24 hours at 1-800-463-1554. Its counsellors give information and referrals. Shared Health also lists the Manitoba Addictions Helpline at 1-855-662-6605, and anyone in crisis can call or text 988. More on the responsible gaming page.

What this site does not do

We do not describe games, promotions, prize draws, loyalty points or offers, and we do not link to them. The resort's membership card is mentioned on this site only because its hotel packages require it. If you want those details, they are on the resort's own pages; our desk only handles rooms.
