Money, in plain words

How bookings pay us

This site earns money one way: a commission when a room request sent through it becomes a confirmed stay. Here is exactly what that means, and what it does not.

The one source of income

When you send a postcard, our booking desk checks your dates and rates with South Beach Casino & Resort's reservations team or with a booking partner. If you then confirm and stay, the resort or that partner pays this site a commission on the booking. That is the business. You pay the rate you are quoted, the same rate you would see elsewhere for those dates, and you never pay us directly.

What is not connected

Questions people ask about this

  1. Does a commission change what you write?

It should not, and the design of the site is meant to make sure it cannot. The facts come with their sources, the verdict says who should look elsewhere, and the official booking route is linked on every page.

  2. Do you favour expensive rooms?

No. The rooms page recommends the cheapest room that fits your trip. A happy guest in a Deluxe King is worth more to a small site than an annoyed one in a suite.

  3. Who pays if I cancel?

Cancellation follows the rules of the resort or the partner who made the booking, which the desk will tell you before you confirm. A cancelled stay pays us nothing.

  4. Is the resort your client?

No. The resort does not run, endorse or pay for this site. A commission on a booking is the only money that can come from it or its partners.
