What a visitor saw
Travel Manitoba's Jillian Recksiedler stayed in a Grand Suite for an article published on 6 March 2024. She described a 780 sq ft corner suite full of natural light from its large windows, with sheer peach curtains, a king bed, a living room, a kitchenette and an in-room jacuzzi, and suggested it for couples marking an anniversary or a family who cannot fly south that winter.
That is one stay in one suite, written for the province's tourism site, which is in the business of making places sound good. I quote it because it is the only first-hand description I found of the inside of a room, and it agrees with the resort's own list.
Three uses for it
- An anniversary
A sitting room means supper from Mango's does not have to be eaten on the bed. The tub needs no explanation.
- A small family in winter
King bed for the parents, sofa bed for a child, the pool downstairs. Grand Beach's ski trails are a short drive north if anyone wants to be outside.
- A long weekend
The pantry fridge and sink make three nights easier than in a 380 sq ft room. The café downstairs is open 24 hours for anything you forgot.
Grand Suite packages
The resort sells a package built on one night in the Grand Suite, with food vouchers and a 1 p.m. late check-out, but notes it is not available online and must be booked by phone. Part of what it includes is casino credit, which I do not cover here. If the room and the late check-out appeal to you, ask the desk to price the suite alone and the package side by side.
